  • OSHA Finalizes Dec. 15 as Electronic Recordkeeping Submissions Deadline November 22, 2017
    The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has finalized December 15, 2017 as the date by which certain employers are required to electronically submit data from their 2016 Forms 300A to OSHA.  
  • Missouri's Minimum Wage to Rise to $7.85 in 2018 November 21, 2017
    Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum wage in Missouri will rise to $7.85 per hour.
  • Michigan's Minimum Wage to Rise to $9.25 in 2018 November 21, 2017
    Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum wage in Michigan will rise to $9.25 per hour for employers with 2 or more employees who are at least 16 years old. The minimum wage for tipped employees will rise to $3.52 per hour, provided that the employee's reported tips per hour average at least $5.73.
  • Vermont's Minimum Wage to Rise to $10.50 in 2018 November 21, 2017
    Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum wage in Vermont will rise to $10.50 per hour. However, employers will generally be permitted to take a credit of $5.25 per hour toward the minimum wage ("tip credit") of tipped employees.
  • Washington State's Minimum Wage to Rise to $11.50 in 2018 November 21, 2017
    Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum wage in the state of Washington will rise to $11.50 per hour. The minimum wage for workers who are 14 or 15 years old will rise to $9.78 per hour. Notably, tips and service charges paid to an employee may not count toward an employee’s hourly minimum wage
  • Maine's Minimum Wage to Rise to $10.00 in 2018 November 21, 2017
    Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum wage in Maine will rise to $10.00 per hour. However, employers will generally be permitted to take a credit of $5.00 per hour toward the minimum wage ("tip credit") of service employees—employees engaged in occupations in which the employees customarily and regularly receive more than $30 a month in tips.
  • Hawaii's Minimum Wage to Rise to $10.10 in 2018 November 21, 2017
    Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum wage in Hawaii will rise to $10.10per hour. However, employers will generally be permitted to take a credit of $0.75 toward the minimum wage ("tip credit") of tipped employees who customarily and regularly receive more than $20 a month in tips.

    The IRS is reminding workers that contributions to employer-sponsored IRAs, 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, or similar workplace retirement programs must be made by year's end to qualify for the Retirement Savings Contributions Credit.
